The rationale behind our piece

We chose idea 2 as we felt it would be the most successful idea and had the best feedback from our audience. We chose our location to be an abounded, mysterious scene so we were able to film a variety of different location shots to maker our piece tense as well as being able to se the scene for the opening of our thriller. We were really keen on using a sunrise during our piece to help represent time passing on, we would also use this to split up our titles by using cross dissolve from a title to a clip of a sunrise. We wanted our piece to be a dark, slow pace throughout the piece to do this we would put certain effects on clips to make them duller as well as making a soundtrack to fit the pace. We were inspired to use a slow pace for our piece after watching No Country For Old Men, which began with an extreme slow pace. We also wanted to use many close ups as this would show expression and emotion to help build tension. By using slow pans and zooms this would give a more tense atmosphere to the piece it would also help us flow from clip to clip.
