The rationale behind our piece
We chose idea 2 as we felt it would be the most successful idea and had the best feedback from our audience. We chose our location to be an abounded, mysterious scene so we were able to film a variety of different location shots to maker our piece tense as well as being able to se the scene for the opening of our thriller. We were really keen on using a sunrise during our piece to help represent time passing on, we would also use this to split up our titles by using cross dissolve from a title to a clip of a sunrise. We wanted our piece to be a dark, slow pace throughout the piece to do this we would put certain effects on clips to make them duller as well as making a soundtrack to fit the pace. We were inspired to use a slow pace for our piece after watching No Country For Old Men, which began with an extreme slow pace. We also wanted to use many close ups as this would show expression and emotion to help build tension. By using slow pans and zooms this would give a more tense atmosphere to the piece it would also help us flow from clip to clip. Costume and Props
Costumes
We asked Morgan to wear every day clothes so there was more mystery to where or when she was taken. We also wanted her to being wearing dull coloured clothes to represent the upset and sadness of the piece. We thought it would be best for her to wear normal clothes rather than a school uniform as that is very stereotypical.
The girl that approached the body was also in every day clothes so she didn’t look to abnormal. She was also wearing a thick coat so it was obvious she was suppose to be out walking and she just happened to find the body.
Finally we asked the two boys to wear smart but casual clothes. They wore jeans with a smart jacket and hat. This helps give them the ‘badie’ image and also represents that they are a team as they are wearing similar clothing.

Filming and Editng
Filming Day
The day before we were due to film one of our actors told us she would no longer be available at first this was a slight issue as we were suppose to be also using her dog but we soon worked around it and the problem was soon resolved. During planning we struggled to find someone with a car which was suitable for the image, the only available person with a car owned a Citroen C3 so when we came to filming the car we made sure it wasn’t obvious what make of car it was.
When it came to the day of filming we had a proper look around the location and realised that there was a lot more to it than we thought. This was good as it meant we could shoot more location shots and we also had a choice of where to film it. It also had an inside which we chose to film the flashbacks in which help to represent that it was perhaps at a different location than to where the body was being dumped. The room was darkly lit and was untidy which really helped the style of our piece.
We spent most of the day filming location shots and the flashbacks, when we decided we had filmed enough we asked Jason and Jamie to come to the location so we were able to film them as well as the owner of the car. This ran really smoothly and the boys worked really well and made our piece look really effective. In our planning we decided to have the car lights shine on the body before pulling away, however when it came to film this it wasn’t dark enough so it wasn’t very effective, so instead we filmed a slow pan along the body to add tension.
Overall I think our day of filming went really well, we shot plenty of footage to be able to use when editing. We also filmed a variety of camera shots as well as various location shots. The only problem may have been that the camera battery life was not long enough as one of our cameras ran out; luckily we had another camera which we were able to use.
Editing
As we were so successful on our day of filming we had plenty of footage to be working with. At first the process was slow and we were struggling a bit and we weren’t really sure where I piece was going, but after a few lessons of editing our piece soon began to piece together. I and Emily never really disagreed on anything as we both had the same image in our head and we knew what we wanted our final piece to look like.
The main problem we had when editing was probably that some of our footage didn’t come out as well as we thought it would. Such as some location shots weren’t very clear or zooms weren’t very steady. This wasn’t a huge problem though as we still had plenty to work with and our outcome was still successful.

Why we chose our title.
We wanted a title that meant either being abandoned or a word that represents careless. We used a thesaurus to find one word for our title. After discussing it with my partner and asking a few people of the public we decided on 'Indifference'.
The definition of Indifference is; A lack of concern or care, as well as lack of importance and insignificance.
We thought that this would help represent the treatment given to the girl, there is no concern given it is all careless behaviour. The two boys treat her as if she has no importance. So we thought that 'Indifference' would be a good word to use as our title.
We used the website http://www.dafont.com/ to create different titles to make it more effective as the fonts on iMovie aren't very good. The title below was on of our ideas we had about 7 to choose from before narrowing it down to the one we used.
